WEDNESDAY  EVENINGS WITH GOD
Beginning September 22 at 7 pm

Come one! Come all!  Wednesday Evenings with God beginning September 22 at 7 pm.  (Please note this starting time and we will end at 8 pm)
The Children will meet on their own enjoying special crafts and studies.
The adult and youth will meet in the overflow room.  We will be using the newest addition to the “Deeper Connections” series.
Each session will be introduced from, Isreal and will include historical and cultural background material followed by a closer look at specific Biblical texts and direct application to our spiritual life today.
From September through December, we’ll be using “Deeper Connections, The Life of Jesus.”

Once again we will be parking cars on  church property  during the York
Fair from September 10th to the 19th.  Sign charts will be available around the middle of August.  This is a great opportunity for you to raise funds for the General Fund or the church Organization of your choice.  Watch for upcoming announcements about this event.  We never have too much help.

The suggested items for the WELL  -  we are in need  of most canned food items, (soup, spaghetti sauce ) diapers, cereal, dried milk, juices, personal care  items (deodorant, shampoo, shaving cream)  ,etc.
.  All of you are vital to the ministry we do here at the WELL. Please do not let these suggestions limit your options, anything you can donate will help out and is always appreciated. Volunteers are always needed. Please enter on the east side of the church at 595 W. Market St.  We are now open on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Mark you calendar now for our Annual Rally Day Service.  Our special guests at our 9AM Sunday School Hour will be the Harvey & Sam Puppet Company from Columbia MD.  Meet Harvey and Sam by going to their website at
      Harvey and Sam’s theme for their Rally Day presentation will be “I Just Want More”
      Please plan now to make this day a special part of your fall
schedule.
 
Our Rally Day event will include, in addition to Harvey and Sam, our 8 am and 10:30 am Worship Celebrations in which we will celebrate the “MORE” that God in Christ5 gives us.
 
A family Church Picnic will follow our second service at Cousler Park.  Please plan to bring a dish/desert to share and your table service.  Also please feel free to dress casually for the Church Service.

NEED A PLACE TO PRAY?
Our Sanctuary provides a quiet peaceful place to come and focus upon God. Monday through Friday you are welcome to come through the office door between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and go in the sanctuary for prayer. Also, you may find the church open many evenings during activities or meetings. The sanctuary is available during most of these times.

 Proceeds are used to purchase Bibles for Children and to give away.

ONE WEEK  ONLY…….    

The Resurrection Dancers of Haiti, a professional troupe made up of former street children or child slaves , will be making several appearances in the Baltimore/ Washington Area  in early September. This group performed for Calvary's Mission Team when they stayed at St. Joseph's Home, the boy's residence, during our trip to Haiti in 2008. Proceeds from the performances will be used to help rebuild St. Joseph's and its sister home, Wings of Hope for children with disabilities. The two venues closed to York are Central Presbyterian Church in Towson and St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Rockville. The Towson event is free and an offering will be received. , Sept. 9, Thurs. The Rockville event is $25.00, reserved in advance, Sept. 11, Sat. Please let Pastor Bob or Betty Petrick know if you wish to attend either of these events.

“Timeless Treasures: The Parables of Jesus”.  Saturday October 16, 9 am - 4:30 pm (leave from Calvary Church at 8:30 am).  Participants are asked to bring drink, lunch & snack.  There is a fridge, microwave & stove.  We’re meeting at Quickel Lutheran Church’s facility.  Cost is $10.  See sign-up sheet at the Information Center

CHIMES CHOIR

The Chimes Choir will begin practice again on September 20th at 7 pm in the overflow room.ary.  The first Sunday playing at the 10:30 am service is October 10. 

Text Box:  COMING SOON:  ANNUAL CHURCH CONFERENCE     

Our Church Conference will be Sunday October 10th at 7 PM at Messiah UM Church, York.
Note our District Superintendent Rev. Mark Webb is inviting us to come to a Cluster Event that will be followed by our Church Conference.  Rev. Webb will lead us in worship and then dismiss to a room for our Church Conference.
    At this Conference we’ll select church officers for 2011.  We’ll also consider a request by Steve Cowfer to be recommended by Calvary to become an Ordained Pastor in the United Methodist Church.
Please reserve Sunday evening October 10th for this important  gathering.
